Cricketts Inky Art Blot

I had printed this miniature with 5 color layers over the past couple of weeks, yesterday I added an extra layer of white to soften the edges of the feather. In the background you can see some of the second version alarm clock prints. I have also started playing around with images to make these digital prints. The glasses are a reoccurring theme.

I signed up for Nadadada 2012 at Wildflower Village earlier this week. I have been spending time sketching and playing with the colour wheel, coming up with plans for this exhibition that shows in June. I was originally going to paint a series of temples, starting with Stonehenge and ending with a Burning Man temple. Since playing in the sketchbook, I have changed my mind and will now probably do a mixture of painting and printmaking of a more frivolous nature. The scenery outside the studio window was very drab and grey today. The pond has now fully dried up and snow in on the forcast. Perhaps that will keep me in the studio working as I come up with my plans.

Yesterday morning, I worked on finishing book one. The rest of the day I stitched and covered a second book using one of the other cover prints. I am going to make this my journal of impossible things, coined from Doctor Who's book. In this book I will paint, draw and take notes of my own adventures in it. Both books are drying and are ready for filling as art books at a later time.

Thursday night, After taking numerous prints, i have 4 copies that I think are good enough for an edition. Thursday evening, This is the first proof off the matrix. The carving is not too bad, but the ink is patchy. Thursday afternoon, I have returned to carving the matrix and have decided to run some single colour prints from it before reducing further for the second printing. I will incorporate a softcut block into these prints for a small edition (possibly as few as 5) fragmented narrative.
